Tommy Lee Wess, 82, Lawndale, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.

Born in Arkansas, on November 18, 1939, he was a son of the late Lester Fallon Wess and Delma Wiline Griffin Wess. He was retired from the City of Shelby Fire Department as an Engineer. Tommy also served in US Army 82 Airborne.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Craig Martin; two brothers, Wayne and Doyle Wess and a sister Carol Wess.

He is survived by his wife of years Eugenia "Jean" Hilton Wess; Brian Wess and wife Jennifer of Shelby and Rob Wess of Shelby; daughter, Dayna Strange and husband Jerry of Lawndale; brother Leonard Wess of Williford; two sisters, Elwanda Raper and Nina Sue Bass both of Hot Springs, Ark.; three grandchildren, Aaron Wess and wife Lexie, Sayge Strange and Blayton Strange and special friends James Haynes, Renee Smith, Joy Smith and Mike Carr.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00. PM at Casar Baptist Church.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Casar Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Pruett officiating.
