Tonga Kulaea Jolly

Tonga Kulaea Jolly, 60, of Shelby, North Carolina, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, May 26, 2025, in Charlotte, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 14, 1964, in Vava'u, Tonga Islands, she was the beloved daughter of Muomua Lolohea and Nifai Tonga. A proud graduate of Saineha High School in 1984, Tonga chose a life of faith and service early on, dedicating two years as a full-time missionary in Tonga, where she joyfully spread the gospel and ministered to her community.

In 1989, she traveled to New Zealand to visit family before making her way to the United States, where she reunited with loved ones and later met the love of her life, Daniel Jolly Jr. They married on April 24, 1993, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and together built a beautiful life grounded in faith and love. She was a devoted mother to their two sons, Daniel Jolly III and Ralph Ellison Jolly, whom she cherished deeply.

For over three decades, Tonga was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Shelby. Her dedication to service was evident through her many years in the Relief Society and Primary organizations, where she uplifted others with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith.

Professionally, Tonga was known for her exceptional work ethic and leadership, serving as a supervisor at Sears and Marshall's in Shelby for over 25 years.

Tonga Kulaea Jolly embodied the fruits of the Spirit -- love, kindness, patience, faithfulness, and righteousness. She delighted in reading the gospel, making family meals, attending the temple, and creating treasured memories with her loved ones.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Daniel Jolly Jr.; her sons, Daniel Jolly III and Ralph Ellison Jolly; as well as a large and loving extended family of brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends -- all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Her mission on Earth is complete, and she now rests in the arms of her Savior.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2500 Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
