Tonnie Alvin Cook
 Casar - Mr. Tonnie Alvin Cook, 67, of 1507 Casar-Lawndale Road passed away Sunday at Hospice at Wendover after a long and courageous battle with cancer. 


Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Julius Clemmie Cook and Susan Leane Dale Cook.  Tonnie retired after thirty-eight years with PPG Industries.  He attended Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church and was a retired member of Casar Volunteer Fire Department where he served as former chief.


In addition to his parents, Mr. Cook was preceded in death by brothers, Javan Cook and J.C. Cook and sister, Bertha Swink.


Tonnie is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Nancy Hoyle Cook; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Lori Cook and Jacob  and Suzanne Cook all of Casar; brothers, John H. Cook of Shelby, Forrest Cook of Casar, Bill Cook of

Casar, Harrill Cook of Shelby and Darrell Cook of Hickory; sisters, Vernie Willis of Casar, Juanita Allen of Shelby and Diane Blanton of Mt. Holly; grandchildren, Eli Cook and Kaylee Cook and numerous nieces and nephews.


Visitation:  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM  Monday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.  A guest register is available at www.stameyfuneralhome.com.


Funeral Service: The funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church.


Officiating:  Rev. Harry Queen, Rev. Jack Waters and Rev. Kat Spangler
