Trail Ride Raises $4,250
The “Equestrians For The Cure” 4th annual trail ride was held on May  5th in Hollis N.C.  The event raised $4,250.00 for  the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  The money is used to help fund research and help local people who are living with MS.  There were 113 registered riders and each rider paid $30.00 to participate.  They  each received a t-shirt and lunch.  There was an auction, half and half tickets and door prizes. “Strings Of Joy” from Big Springs Baptist provided  music.  Thank you so much to all the sponsors and volunteers that helped make this  event possible.  Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.  Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs; or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision.  The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another.  Today, new treatment and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.  For more information about MS go to www.nationalmssociety.org.  To see more pictures from the event, visit www.facebook.com/EquestriansForTheCure
