Tresa Laughlin Hovis, 76 of Grover, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at her residence.

Born in Cleveland County, on March 27, 1947, she was the daughter of the late J.T. Laughlin and Luesenior Champion Laughlin.

Tresa's legacy will endure as a devoted mother, sister, friend and cherished grandmother. She will fondly be remembered for her unwavering faith in her Lord and deep love for her family. Tresa was a people person and cherished her many friends, especially Nancy and Judy, who were like sisters to her. She especially enjoyed worshiping with her church family at Christian Fellowship Church, going places, visiting the beach and anything connected to Elvis Presley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Laughlin and Farrell Laughlin.

Tresa is survived by her son, Brandon Hovis, daughter-in-law, Brooke of Grover and her two grandsons that were her pride and joy, Abel and Jase Hovis.

Tresa is also survived by her sisters, Martha Fortenbury of Fallston, Brenda Garver of Clover, SC and twin sister, Trena Whitaker (Gary) of Shelby and brothers, Terry Laughlin (Pam) of Cherryville and Freddie Laughlin of Shelby and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family members who she loved dearly and who will forever miss her.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 2:00pm at Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Lloyd Hunt and nephew, James Laughlin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christian Fellowship Church, Parking Lot Fund, PO Box 303, Fallston, NC 28042.
