Tuila Pansy Beaver, 89, of Ellenboro passed away on March 11, 2026 in Concord, NC.

Tuila was born on March 18, 1936 in Cleveland County, to the late Ophas Roland Short and Lillian Betty Smawley Short. She retired from PPG Industries in Shelby after 37 years of service and was a member of Polkville Baptist Church. In Tuila's younger years she enjoyed western square dancing with Dub, her loving husband. After retiring she enjoyed reading, golfing and working with her beautiful flowers, especially caring for the hundreds of daylilies that filled her yard each summer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jake William "Dub" Beaver; daughter, Sandy Smith; grandson, Travis Demetro; three brothers, Russ Short, Leighton Short, Bob Short and three sisters, Iris Jones, Jane Berman and Teresa Bona.

Tuila is survived by her son, Roger Newton and wife, Melanie Hester; granddaughter, Carissa Reynolds and husband, David; grandson, Lamar Smith and fiancée, Taryn Batton; eight great-grandchildren, Blake Buchanan, Luke Buchanan, Grant Reynolds, Maddy Demetro, Mason Demetro, Aiden Smith, Zoey Smith and Knox Smith; four brothers, Gayle Short and wife, Joyce, Keith Short and wife, Vivian, Rodney Short and Neal Short and wife, Donna and sister, Shelia Sipe and husband, David.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 12:45pm to 1:45pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home in Fallston, NC.

A Graveside Service will be on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00pm at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
