Tyrone Gale Beckum, age 78 of Sellerstown Road, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1941 in Pasco County, FL to the late Carro and Lela Loretta Alligood Beckum.

Ty was a member and former deacon of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He was a model train enthusiast. Ty also loved to watch sports and was an avid Duke basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Kiser Beckum; and siblings, Angie Peak, Charles Beckum, Glenn Beckum, and Myles Beckum.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Jeanette Hoyle; brother-in-law, Lewis Kiser and wife, Gail; special friends, John and Lorna Ross, Margie Hester, and Jack Gibson; his best fur friend, Gus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Shady Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center with Pastor Dale Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Beckum will lie-in-state from 1 to 1:45PM prior to the service in the Family Life Center. At other times, the family will gather at the home of Chris and Tammy Kiser.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and face coverings will be required.
