Valery Levonda Brintley-Davis

Valery Levonda Brintley-Davis departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. She was born in Shelby, North Carolina on August 24, 1984, to Jerry Levon and Verl Marie Brintley. She was the eldest of their two children and was raised in Mooresboro, North Carolina.

She graduated from Crest High School in 2002 and continued her education at UNC Greensboro. After receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2006, she attended UNCG/A&T, receiving her Master of Science Degree in Social Work. In 2017, after realizing her love for the medical field and public service, she attended Gaston College. In 2018, she received her Diploma in Practical Nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Then in 2019, she returned to Gaston College to work toward her Associate Degree in Nursing. She was anticipating a graduation date in May of 2020, becoming a Registered Nurse (RN).

Valery was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel in Mount Holly, North Carolina. There she served on the Praise Team, Adult Dance Team, Choir, Greeters, Security and the Finance Ministry. Previously, she was a devoted member, praise and worship leader, choir member and ordained as a minister at Bethlehem Temple Church of Grover, North Carolina.

Valery continued in many ways as a servant, even in her professional career. She was a Private Practice Therapist at Piedmont Family Services in Shelby, NC, an Assessment Clinician at True Behavioral Healthcare in Gastonia, NC, a Clinical Operations Manager at Monarch in Gastonia, NC, a Behavioral Health Provider & Program Director at Gaston Family Health Services in Gastonia, NC, a Licensed Practical Nurse at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, NC, and a Licensed Practical Nurse at Bayada Pediatrics in Gastonia, NC. Still in yet, in the midst of all of her success, her faith and impeccable ambition always kept her eyes on the next level.

Valery was also a devoted wife, caring mother to her two children, and still found time to be so much to so many. Her faith and ambition opened many doors for her to serve others and she did it willingly.

Valery leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband Johnny Davis and their two children daughter Kameryn Ziyona Brintley and Braxton Kevon Davis (Gastonia, NC); her parents Jerry Levon and Verl Marie Brintley (Shelby, NC); her father-in-law Johnny (Diane) Petty (Mooresboro); her mother-in-law Annette Davis (Forest City, NC); her brother Jerry Levon (Domnique) Brintley, Jr. (Shelby, NC), one sister-in-law, Jennifer Davis (Forest City, NC); six brothers-in-law, James Davis (Mooresboro, NC), Michael Surratt (Shelby, NC), Steven (Kendall) Mitchell (Mooresboro, NC), Jerome Davis (Mooresboro, NC), Anthony (Monica) Davis (Mooresboro, NC), and Joshua (Ondia) Petty; her maternal grandmother Lula R.
