Vernie Barbara Blackwell Poole, age 81 of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a native of Spartanburg County, SC and the daughter to the late Allen Blackwell and the late Roey Blackwell. Vernie was raised in Campobello, SC and was a 1959 graduate of Chapman High School in Inman, SC. She retired from Mastercraft Textiles and loved quilting, crafting and especially loved her cats. She will be remembered as a loving mother and doting grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years David Poole, one daughter Barbara Daphine Poole Maness and one son John David Poole.

Vernie is survived by two daughters; Sheila P. Wilson (Anthony) and Melissa P. Stephens (Richard), Three sisters; Frances Mabry of Inman, SC, Magdalene Green of Cowpens, SC and Enzia Higgins of Inman, SC, Ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, daughter in law Diane Poole of Mooresboro and special family members Vick and Kathy Maness.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Friday March 11, 2022 at Chase Baptist Church of Mooresboro, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2pm at Chase Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Forest City, NC.
