Vernon Edward "Eddie" Blalock, Jr., 28 , of Shelby , passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Hospice at Wendover.

He was born in Mecklenburg County, on May 3, 1993. He attended Bethany Baptist Church in Grover.

Survivors include his father and step mother, Vernon Edward Blalock, Sr. and Dawn Blalock of Casar; mother and step father, Myra Elaine Jolley Stroud and Neil Stroud of Grover; two sisters, Vanessa Blalock (Colby Carley) of Shelby and Jessica Stroud of Grover; step brother, Dustin Tallent of Casar and best friend, Travis Smith of Shelby.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Smith and Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating.

The burial will be private.
