Vertie Ruth Warlick Redmond

Vertie Ruth Warlick Redmond, 89, of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Fair Haven, Bostic.

Born in Cleveland County, on October 14, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Cletus Guy Warlick and Minnie Etta Proctor Warlick. She was a retired nurse having worked for Shelby Hospital and Florida Blood Service. Mrs. Warlick was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lee Redmond; six brothers, John Warlick, Brady Warlick, Lawrence Warlick, Fred Warlick, Hazel Warlick, and Floyd Warlick and three sisters, Ethel Warlick Griffin, Mary Lou Warlick Maynor and Genette Warlick Hord.

She is survived by her son, Everett Lee Redmond II and wife, Valerie Schneider of Silver Spring, MD; a daughter, Frances Redmond Overcash and husband, Marc of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Ethan & Aidan Overcash; a brother, Buren Warlick of Shelby; sister-in-law, Mary Warlick Grigg of Lawndale and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Runyon officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
