VFW Post 4066 Ladies Auxiliary Gives Gifts To Vets
Every year the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 4066 in Shelby takes the money they make selling red poppies and purchases things to give to veterans throughout Cleveland County and even Cherryville. The group visits nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Hospice, Life Enrichment, and many places where veterans reside and give them a gift at Christmas time. This year, they gathered together and made special bags of cheer filled with socks. VFW Post 4066 President Carolyn Clontz (sitting on left) is very proud of her volunteer team who do so much to help our veterans. Shown above, preparing the bags of cheer are Vivian Jenkins, Dot Lee, Mabel Lee, Martha Bailey, Nancy Grigg, Frances Talent, Kathy Brown and Naomi Massey. Also, Susie Cooke (not pictured). To all the ladies of VFW Post 4066 Auxiliary, we salute you!
