Victoria "Vicki" Cornwell Russ, 79, of Fallston, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

She was born on September 16, 1946, in Gaston County and was a daughter of the Robert "Bob" Howard Cornwell and Geraldine Lail Cornwell. Vicki was retired from Cleveland County Schools after 28 years of service working at Fallston Elementary School and Burns Middle School. She loved to do anything with her horses, whether it was riding, barrel racing or trail riding. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vicki enjoyed going to the Cleveland County Fair, shopping and listening to anything Elvis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Cornwell.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard Eugene Russ; a son, Todd Royster and wife Tammy of Fallston; two grandchildren, Taylor Royster and Tori Younce and husband Ethan; two great grandchildren, Karson & Kaisley Younce; two nephews, Matt Cornwell and wife Tammy and Chad Cornwell; mother-in-law, Opal T. Russ of Kings Mountain and two sisters-in-law, Susan Brooks and husband, Jim of Shelby and Pat Humphries of Shelby.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00am at Farm Haven with Rev. Daryl Eagle officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the education fund for Karson and Kaisley Younce, 126 Runnin R Trail, Shelby, NC 28150.
