Violet Reynolds, age 76, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

Violet was born January 2, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Coley Lovelace and Jean Holland Lovelace. She was a dedicated homemaker. Violet loved Jesus and was known as a woman of grace. She had a servant's heart and enjoyed doing things for others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Violet was a faithful member of Sisk Memorial Missionary Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Jimmy "J.R." Reynolds.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lisa Reynolds (Dr. Michael) of Mars, Pennsylvania; two sons, Jimmy "Hacksaw" Reynolds (Teresa) of Forest City and Robert "R.J." Reynolds (Patti) of Ellenboro; brothers, Flay Gettys (Joan) of Mt. Holly, NC, Billy Lovelace (Phyllis) of Shelby and Homer Lovelace (Judy) of Shelby; four grandchildren, Paige Reynolds, Danielle Vactor, Taylor R. Downey (Nick) and Ethan Vactor.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Frank Lewis and Reverend Eric Yelton officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
