VIP Fall Festival

On November 1st, Shelby Lions teamed up with Wal-Mart Distribution Center employees to host a VIP Fall Festival.

More than 50 people attended the event including 30 VIP’s from Clevseland County.  Wal-Mart organized games for the VIP’s.  Everyone enjoyed bingo, corn hole, and karaoke.  The VIP’s brought snacks to share. In addition to the games, the VIP’s also enjoyed the fellowship and the food.

The Wal-Mart V.A.P. (Volunteering Always Pays) program enables Wal-Mart associates to volunteer their time to local community events and the company makes a charitable donation in their name.  After a couple of planning sessions with the Cleveland County Social Worker for the Blind during the past few weeks, six Wal-Mart associates showed up Wednesday morning to organize the hall, set up the food, and run the games.

Contributions from Wal-Mart will be made to the D31A White Cane campaign in the name of Shelby Lions Club. A big thank you goes out to Lion Darrell Jeffries, a Wal-Mart employee, and the other volunteers that made this event possible.
