Mrs. Virginia Marie Ellis of Boiling Springs, North Carolina, died peacefully at
her home on January 18, 2019.
She was predeceased by her mother Donnie York Gilbert and her brother Colman
York, as well as her husband J.C. Ellis.
She is survived by her loving son and care-giver Chad Helms of the home.
Marie was a home-maker and an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where
she was a long-time member of the Ruth Sunday School Class and the Baptist
Women.
Mrs. Ellis enjoyed her travels and the fellowship of her family and her many
friends at Beaver Dam.
She was a generous supporter and donor for several organizations including the
American Cancer Society, the North Carolina Services for the Blind, and the
Lions Club, especially their work with Camp Dogwood.
Memorials are suggested to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 123 Beaver Dam Church
Road, Shelby, NC 28152; the Lions Club, P.O. Box 1082, Shelby, NC 28151; or any
charity of the donor's choice.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019, at 11:00 in the
sanctuary of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour
prior to the service. Burial will take place following the service.
