Mrs. Vista "Penny" Penola Hardin Patterson, 75, of Mooresboro, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Douglas Hunt (Linda) of Durham, NC, Robert Scott Hunt (Del) of Shelby, NC, and James Mark Hunt of Mooresboro, NC, four grandchildren, James Hunt, Michelle Marshall (Patrick), Beth Palmer (Jeff), and Geoffery Hunt, four great grandchildren, and a sister, Karen Jones (Keith) of Shelby, NC.
Born January 4, 1941 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Patterson was the daughter of the late Douglas Lattimore Hardin and Cassie Blanton Hardin and was preceded in death by a son, William Joseph Hunt.
Penny was a kind and loving person. She enjoyed genealogy and working on her family tree. Penny also enjoyed traveling to historical places, learning all the secrets within. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be loved and missed by those that knew her.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Teresa Blanton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, 215 S. Main Street, Shelby, NC 28152.
