Walker "Dub" Kiser
Walker "Dub" Kiser, 92, died Wednesday October 10, 2012 at Crawley Memorial Hospital in Boiling Springs. Born in Cherokee County SC, he was the son of the late Noah Walker and Mabel Daniel Kiser. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Mary Annie Kiser; a brother, Jim Kiser; and a sister, Fran Parris.  Dub was a WWII veteran, serving with the 34th Infantry division in Northern Ireland, North Africa, and Italy. He received the Combat Infantryman Medal, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star. He was retired from the Shelby Post Office after 31 years of service as a Rural Letter Carrier. He was an active member of the Shelby Church of Christ and enjoyed camping and gardening.

Mr. Kiser is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kiser of Shelby; and a son, Danny Kiser of Hampstead.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday October 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Terry Graves officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
