Mr. Walter Reid Skinner, 80, of  1400 Burke Road, Shelby, NC,  passed away Friday, May 14, 2010. Services were held at Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresboro, NC. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park.

Mr. Skinner served our country in the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gaston and Juanita Bridges Skinner; 1 brother, Henry Skinner; 2 sisters, Sue Talent Ware and Edith Skinner; and 1 granddaughter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marjorie Hamrick Skinner; 2 sons, Reid Skinner and wife Teresa, and Larry Skinner and wife Kathy, all of Shelby, NC; 1 daughter, Sandy Skinner Piercey and husband Randy of Shelby, NC; 3 brothers, Fay Skinner, Ben Skinner and George Skinner; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-grandchildren.
