Mrs. Wanda Cheryl Bostic Childress, 70 of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
Born August 16, 1947 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Childress was the daughter of Lois Stallings Bostic and the late Thomas Walter Bostic and was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Malcolm Shuford Childress.
She is survived by a sister, Risë Bostic of Shelby, NC.
Mrs. Childress graduated from Shelby High School and attended Western Carolina University. Wanda was an avid Carolina Tar Heels basketball and Shelby High Golden Lions football fan. She enjoyed crafts, her pets, and spending time with her friends.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by Dr. Keith Stephenson.
