Wanda Jean Hamrick Watkins, age 79 of Earl, NC, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children, Gary Watkins and wife Dewanna of Dallas, NC, and Crystal Russ and husband Clint of Shelby, NC, five grandchildren, Brittany Melton and husband Mickey of Grover, NC, David Watkins and wife Hannah of Hildebran, NC, Joshua Currier of Grover, NC, Matthew Russ of Shelby, NC, Christopher Russ and wife Kailey Branscum of Shelby, NC, four great grandchildren, Brayden Melton, Claudia Melton, Ryder Russ, and Cora, Russ, a brother, Charles Hamrick of Mooresboro, NC, and a sister, Teresa Brown and husband Tim of Charlotte, NC, numerous other nieces and nephews and her faithful canine companion, Shadow.

Born June 29, 1945, in Cleveland County, NC, Wanda was the daughter of the late Garland Gibb Hamrick and Pauline Pearson Hamrick and was preceded in death by two sisters, Eldora Whiteside, Mary Boyer, and a brother, Terry Hamrick.

Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed reading, fishing, swimming, and watching old westerns. She also enjoyed watching sports which includes Nascar which Dale Earnhardt was her favorite driver and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
