Wayne D. McGinnis, age 75, of Forest City, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his residence.
Born May 13, 1942 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Osborne McGinnis and Stella Price McGinnis. He was a faithful employee for A.R. Thompson Asphalt for many years before retirement. Wayne's greatest pleasure in life came from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Weast.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty years, Reba McGinnis; daughter, Tina Walker and husband, Michael of Forest City; one son, Eric McGinnis and wife, Sandra of Clarmont, FL; sister, Frances Morgan and husband, Gene of Forest City; four brothers, Larry McGinnis and wife, Janice of Forest City, Doug McGinnis and wife, Sandy of Raleigh, NC, Ronnie McGinnis and wife, Debbie and David McGinnis all of Forest City. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Ethan Rodriguez (Krystl), Devin McGinnis, Macey McGinnis, Derek McGinnis, Jamie Beam, Chad Beam, Trevor Beam, Daughtry Mitchell, Riley Weast, Aiden Weast and Megan Weast; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Campbell and Lilly Rodriguez; three step-grandchildren, Elisabeth Walker, Brian Maudy and Mikey Walker.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend David Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
