Wendy Elizabeth Blanton Panther
 Wendy Elizabeth Blanton Panther, 50, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at home.  A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of Ken and Pat Simmons Blanton of Shelby.  She was preceded in death by her son, Trent Bowling; grandmother, Wilma Walker; grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Blanton; and cousin, Jace Barrow.  Wendy loved to ride motorcycles and seadoos.  Her loves were family, motorcycle family, friends, and helping others – especially children.  Wendy founded the Jace Man run for the abused children in Cleveland County.  She had a fond love for her granddaughter and goddaughter.

Wendy is survived by her husband Terry “Spanky” Panther of Blacksburg, SC; parents, Ken and Pat Simmons Blanton of Shelby; brother, Dale Blanton of Shelby; granddaughter, Hunter McKinley Bowling of Blacksburg, SC; god daughter, Melissa Jones of Shelby; special aunt, Gail Laney of Boiling Springs; numerous special friends and cousins.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 3:30 on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.  Howard Stroup will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00pm at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the graveside service.  At other times the family will be at the home of Ken and Pat Blanton, 1330 Eastview Ext in Shelby.

The family requests memorials are made to Abused Prevention Council, Jace Man Memorial Fund in memory of Wendy Panther, P O Box 2589, Shelby NC, 28151.
