Wilbur Lee Earls

Wilbur Lee Earls, age 76, of Mooresboro, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence.

Wilbur was born Sunday, August 13, 1944 in Cleveland County to the late O.P. Earls and Sarah Estelle Godfrey Earls. He was a graduate of Crest High School, class of 1962 and served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. Wilbur was an electrician by trade and owned and operated Riverside Building Maintenance for over twenty years. His business serviced the electrical contracting for AT&T. He was a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church. Wilbur was fondly known as "Bapaw" to his family and he especially loved spending time with his children and grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-eight years, Beatrice "Kaye" Keown Earls; brothers, Buck, John and Opal Earls and a sister, Carolyn Earls.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Tammy Cogdell (Billy) of Bostic, Teresa Hudson (Robert) of Ellenboro, Tony Earls (Bobbie) of Mooresboro, Tanya Earls of Shelby and Doug Earls (Christa) of Mooresboro; five brothers and four sisters. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 Friday, April 23, 2021 at Camps Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Cogdell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at 106 Reynolda Lane, Mooresboro.
