Wilhelmina Jones Howell, age 86, died Monday, November 12, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on December 22, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Dewey Jones and Gussie Beam Jones. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as traveling.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Howell, her daughter, Barbara Mayes and one sister, Rebecca Queen.

Wilhelmina is survived by her four grandchildren, Robbie Nestlerode and wife Shannon of Wynnewood, OK, Karen Mayes of Kings Mountain, Kelli Reinhardt and husband Bradley of Cherryville, Matthew Mayes and wife Deserae of Crouse, son-in-law Jack Mayes of Kings Mountain, stepdaughter, Diane Nestlerode and husband Tommy of Shelby, four sisters; Linda Martin and husband Nixon of Grover, Nora Lona Waters and husband Jack of Shelby, Betty Ruth Price and husband Ed of Shelby, Dede Melton of Shelby, one brother, Bo Jones and wife Kay of Shelby as well as four great-grandchildren; Cheyenne, Toby, Dylan and Camden.

Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm Thursday November 15, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Blanton and Rev. Hayward Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. And at other times in the home located at 415 Borders Road, Shelby. Burial will follow the service in Rosehill Cemetery.
