William Adam "Bill" Hastings

William Adam "Bill" Hastings, 93 of W. Stagecoach Trail, Lawndale, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on June 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Moses Andrew Hastings and Goldie Ann Walker Hastings. Mr. Hastings was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers after 25 years of service. He was a member of Palm Tree Church. Mr. Hastings was a member of the Camp Call Masonic Lodge #534 and Oasis Shriners. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hugh Lee Hastings, Paul Hastings Earl "Shorty" Hastings and Nelson Hastings and a sister, Nancy Jane Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Lavada Warlick Hastings; a son, Dennis Hastings and wife Kay of Shelby; two daughters, Patricia Dedmon and husband Alton of Forest City and Donna Silver and husband Jerry of Polkville; one brother, Dale Hastings of Vale; four sisters, Mozelle Lingerfelt of Belmont, Merle Brooks of New London, Dorothy Ann Randall of Valdese and Eloise Campbell of Morganton; six grandchildren, Tammy Cline of Shelby, Stephanie Hogston of Kings Mountain, Chad Hastings, of Shelby, Jason Hastings of Shelby, Adam Dedmon of Forest City and Danielle Garcia of Shelby; 14 great-grandchildren Clay Hastings, Dylan Hastings, Hunter Nix, Savannah Brigman, Conner Moorhead, Hannah Hogston, Grant Moorhead, Landon Hogston, Bailee Moorhead, Addisyn Dedmon, Phoenix Garcia, Titus Hastings, Dakota Hastings and Kellan Dedmon; two great-great grandchildren, Finn Nix and Violet Nix.

The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home with Rev. George Whitmire officiating. Military and Masonic Rites will be held in the chapel following the service

Entombment will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
