William Bill Phillips, age 89, died Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Hospice Wendover. Born in Oglethorpe, GA he was the son of the late Clifford Elijah Phillips and Margie Eula Oliver Phillips. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. William retired from Reeves Brothers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Drucilla Bridges Phillips, nine sisters and two brothers

Bill is survived by his son Steve Phillips and wife Patricia of Kings Mountain, a daughter, Melinda Green and husband Pastor Adam Green of Grover, as well as four grandchildren Stephanie Donnarumma and husband Mark, Christopher Craig and wife Hope, Jeffrey Craig and wife Heather and Makayla Baucom and husband Timmy and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, September 25, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Rob Quillin and Rev. Jim Brackett officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 24, 2017 form 6:30pm until 8:30 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will take place in the Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery following the service.
