William "Bill" Toy Grayson

William "Bill" Toy Grayson, 92 of Ridgedale Drive, Shelby passed away,
Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at his residence.

Born March 4, 1925 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Toy Palmer
Grayson and Myrtle Vaughn Grayson. He was retired from Western Petroleum
and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he had served as a
deacon. Mr. Grayson served in the US Army during WW II, in Germany, and
received two bronze stars, one being for bravery. Bill enjoyed spending
time farming and with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James Bruce
Grayson; grandsons, Lee Robert Grayson and Skyler Day; brother, Ben Grayson
and two sisters, Mozelle Owens and Janelle Gibson.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Earleen Bingham Grayson; two sons,
Wayne Grayson and wife, Catherine of Shelby and Gene Grayson of Shelby; two
daughters, Jane Grayson of Charlotte and Cynthia Grayson of Shelby and
fiancé Tommy Richards; sister, Patsy Wortman of Belwood; sister-in-law,
Barbara Grayson of Shelby; four grandchildren, Hope Grayson Ryan, Billy
Grayson and husband Jack Finley, April Grayson Moses and husband Nelson
Moses and John Grayson Dwiggins and three great-grandchildren, Casey Ryan,
Hunter Moses and Miller Moses.

A special thanks to Helen Campbell, his daily caregiver for the past 8
months, and the Veterans Administration who provided her and so much support
over the years."

Visitation will be on Friday from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

A funeral service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church
with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ch. Rd., Shelby, NC 28150.
