William "Jack" Jackson Ledford, 85, of Shelby, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Atrium Health - Cabarrus, Concord.

Born in Cleveland County, on November 8, 1937 he was a son of the late Doctor Zemmie Ledford and Ruby Mae Swink Ledford. He was retired from Doran Textiles and Cleveland County Recycling. Jack was a little league baseball coach for many years at Shelby City Parks, where he had several championship teams. He enjoyed working with his hands as a mechanic and mowing lawns. His hobbies included watching NASCAR and fishing with his grandson Adam.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and John Ledford and a sister, Ann Camp.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Margaret Parris Ledford; daughter, Kathy Dwiggins of Shelby; son, Danny Ledford and wife Lisa of Shelby; brother, Jerry Ledford and wife Marie of Marion; two grandsons, Adam Dwiggins and David Drewyour and fiancée Nicole Bailey; and two great grandchildren, Farrah and Liam.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm , at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home with the Dr. Bulo Price officiating.

The inurnment will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
