William L. (Bill) Marsh, age 87, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Hospice of Cleveland County.

Bill was born in Peachland, NC, to the late Romulus Luther Marsh and Lillian Laughinghouse Marsh and was raised in Marshville, NC.

Bill graduated from Marshville High School and earned his Pharmacy Degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 1958 where he was a proud member of the Carolina Marching Band. In 1961, he married Josephine (Jo) Campbell and they moved to Shelby in 1964. Bill worked as a pharmacist for 60 years and owned Community Pharmacy for 20 years prior to his retirement in 2001. Bill grew up on a dairy farm where as a young boy he especially loved his cows and affectionately gave them all names. He served in the Army National Guard from 1958-1964.

Bill was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and directing the Joyful Noisemakers. He was a talented musician and was a member of the orchestra at Gardner Webb University, Isothermal Community College and Rutherford College.
