William Ralph Mauney, 80, passed away November 16, 2022 at his home in Shelby, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on February 18, 1942, he was the son of the late Henry Webb Mauney and Bessie Ann Cogdell Mauney. In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by four brothers, CW Mauney, Jim Mauney, Forrest Mauney and Norman Mauney, as well as, three sisters, Vernie May Wall, Rachel Mauney and Bettie Sue Nelson. Ralph was a giver, lending a helping hand to anyone in need. In his free time, he loved watching hummingbirds, working with his hands and most of all loved spending time fishing.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Deborah Stewart Mauney, son, Bryon (Tina) Mauney of Shelby, NC, brother, Bill Mauney and step-daughter, Jean (Scott Horne) Judy of Union, SC. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Anna (Jared) Beasley of Taylorsville, NC, Casey (Haley) Mauney of Mooresboro, NC, and David and Matthew Judy of Union SC.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the close family and friends that provided care to Ralph over the years.

A funeral service will be held 3:00PM Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Runyon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church sanctuary. Burial will follow the service in the Church cemetery.
