William Richard "Butch" Piercy

William Richard "Butch" Piercy, age 41, died Thursday, May 4, 2017. Born in Cleveland County on December 24, 1975 he was the son of Leonard Richard Piercy of Shelby and Debbie C. Ivester and husband Roger of Boiling Springs. Butch was a 1995 graduate of Crest High School and graduated in 1997 from Catawba Valley Community College with an Associates Degree in Recreational Grounds Management. Butch was a Licensed Landscape contractor and Licensed Irrigation contractor and owner of Timber Ridge Landscaping, LLC. He was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Butch is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard Piercy and Mamie Piercy Ledford and William and Betty Crosby.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Lynn McSwain Piercy; a son, Michael Anthony Gantt of the home; a daughter, Preslei Brooke Piercy of the home; a brother, Robert Bradley Piercy of Shelby; a sister, Lindsey Owens Darnell and husband Jonathan of Boiling Springs; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Linda McSwain of Shelby; nieces, Scout Piercy, Sage Piercy, Josie Kate Darnel; nephew Jett Darnell; and loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Chase Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
