Mr. Willie James Woods passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on February 14, 1952 to the late James William Woods and Betty Jean Nance Card.

Willie was an U.S. States Army veteran. He was employed with Shelby Asphalt for over 20 years. He enjoyed watching sports and was very engaged in politics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Marshall Feaster; step-father, Calvin Card; paternal grandparents, Jamie and Edna Woods; maternal grandparents, James and Hattie Nance and his step-father, Calvin Card.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy L. Woods; one son, Wilando Woods of Lincolnton, NC; three step-sons, Dwight Samuel Lockett of Shelby, NC,Timothy Lockett (Lisa) of Manassas, VA and Chris Lockett (Sandy) of Shelby; his siblings, Katherine Curry (Jimmy), Joyce Huskey (Willie) both of Shelby, Octavia Sowell (Jerod) of Charlotte, NC, Calvin Card, Jr., Alandus Card, Alvin Card and Delapena Card all of Shelby; seven aunts, Earlene Wray, Alice Vanlue, Doristeen Barnett, Betty Jean Nance, Jennie Nance, Christine Nance and Mary Nance and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12:00 Noon. Condolences can be expressed online www.enloemortuary.com. Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
