Mrs. Willine Joyce McSwain Hamrick, 69 of Shelby, NC, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2017.
Joyce has 8 children, Claude Hamrick and Alice Douglas of the home, Cletus Hamrick of Shelby, NC, Diane Hamrick of Grover, NC, Teresa and Troy Kelly of Shelby, NC, David Hamrick of Cherryville, NC, Clara Hamrick Whisonant and Dennis Hall of Gaffney, SC, Daniel Hamrick of Sharon, SC, and Dennis and Jamie Hamrick of Shelby, NC, 15 grandkids and 21 great grandkids and a sister, Janice Deloris McSwain of Kings Mountain, NC.
Born August 3, 1947 in Cleveland County, Joyce was the daughter of the late Evans Yates McSwain and Nellie Ree Thrift McSwain and was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, J.Y. Hamrick, a sister, Emily Bridges, and two brothers, Randy McSwain and Harold McSwain.
Joyce loved to camp, do puzzle books, shopping, going out to eat, and just enjoy being with her family. Joyce also had a loving little puppy named Tiny who she absolutely adored. Joyce worked as a bus driver for many years in Cleveland County and also worked at PPG.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Robert Mote and Rev. Lucky Earls. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at House of Prayer Cemetery in Fallston.
