Wyatt Scott Gordon, 2 of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Carolinas Medical Center - Main, Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County, North Carolina on March 15, 2022, he was the son of Zachary Scott Gordon and Anne Marie Lackey Gordon.

Wyatt was the sweetest, independent, goofy and most loving boy that anyone was lucky to meet. He brought a light to the world that made everyone who saw him smile, he was our son-shine. Strangers would come up and tell him how beautiful he was from his bright blonde hair, big blue eyes, cheeks and a smile that could brighten any day. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met, even if it was for a passing moment. Wyatt had many loves. He loved to be outside, no matter the weather. He loved wee-woos (fire trucks) and choo-choos (trains). He never missed a moment to point them out. He loved his partners in crime (Maverick and Goose). Most of all he loved his Mommy, Daddy, and Sissy. Wyatt lived his life to the fullest every single day. In two short years, Wyatt gave us a lifetime of love and memories and reminds us everyday to find the sunshine even through the storm.

Wyatt was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Dennis Gordon, Harold Benfield and Euell and Betsy Lackey.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Magnolia Gordon; grandparents, Keith and Lisa Lackey of Fallston and Kevin and Sherry Gordon of Shelby; great-grandparents, Shelia Gordon of Shelby, Shirley Benfield of Lawndale and Ed and Helen Pearson of Shelby; aunts and uncles, Alex and Macy Gordon of Shelby, Beth and Michael Pendleton of Fallston and Matthew and Jessica Lackey of Shelby and cousins, Elliott and Kipton Gordon, Maura, Mckenzie and Marissa Pendleton and Eliza and Olivia Lackey. Wyatt is also survived by his buddies, Maverick and Goose.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Kevin and Sherry Gordon, 123 Gordon Road, Shelby, NC 28150.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at First Methodist Church, Lawndale with the Rev. Jamie Mosteller officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Lackey Family Cemetery.
