Visit the Farmer FoodShare Donation Station Uptown Shelby Saturdays
Fresh local food is finding its way to agencies in the county that are working to relieve hunger. Each Saturday in Uptown Shelby, volunteers operate a Farmer FoodShare Donation Station at the Foothills Farmers' Market. Donation Stations raise local funds at farmers’ markets to buy top-quality fresh local food for people at risk for hunger. Shoppers buy food from farmers and donate it, or give cash and volunteers buy food. Farmers donate excess food and produce from home gardens is welcomed as well. The donations are given to recipient organizations locally. To make your donation stop by the Donation Station each Saturday between 8am-12noon. Visit farmerfoodshare.org or call 704-473-4722 for more information.
