Zora Leeanna Phillips Light, age 61 of Foxdale Lane passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at Carolinas Healthcare System - Lincolnton. She was born August 29, 1956 in Elkton, Maryland to the late Lenzy Petson Phillips and Louise Jane Treadway Schwertner. Zora was a beloved mother and grandmother who cherished her time spent with her family, especially the grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed socializing with everyone, even through Facebook and FaceTime.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Angel; brothers, Jay Phillips and Lenzy Phillips Jr.; and brother-in-law, Travis Eubanks.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Jack Light; daughter, Betty and Billy Adams of Dallas; sons, Jacky Light Jr. and Mandy Kristina of Iron Station and Walter Light of Iron Station; grandchildren, Leeanna Marie and Josh Burns, Christopher Austin, and Katelyn Denise; great grandchildren, Logan Marlon Clark, Elijah Jeffery Burns, and Lian Creed Owens; siblings, Lula Campbell, John and Jan Phillips, Grace Eubanks, Betty and Dennis Bartram, and Lenzy and Melanie Phillips; sister-in-law, Diane Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. John Mayberry officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
