Many of my fellow fishermen are heading to Alabama to get in on the great crappie fishing. They offer some of the best during the winter months. The stories I've heard lately have made me start planning my own trip.

Relay for Life
Double Springs Baptist Church will hold a Family Fun Night, Saturday, February 27, 2016, 5:00-7:30pm. Hotdog Supper (for a donation) Silent Auction. Games for all ages. Relay for Life Project.

During a recent food drive held in honor of the late M.A. Andrews hundreds of pounds of goods were collected to benefit the emergency food pantry at the Neal Senior Center in Shelby.

Free training classes for Hospice Cleveland County (HCC) have been scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Testa Family Hospice House Conference Room, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain.

Cleveland County 4-H is always looking for ways to help out our community. Recently, 4-H'ers from Cleveland County Science Explorers Club participated in a field trip to the Cleveland County Animal Control.
