Parker-Hannifin Recognizes Outstanding Employees
Parker- Hannifin Gear Pump Division, Kings Mountain, NC. Parker initiated a program to recognize outstanding employees for their efforts. The program is called P.R.A.I.S.E. (Parker Rewards Achievement In Superb Employees). This is a peer recognition system, where employees nominate their fellow associates for work 'above and beyond' in several categories.  Likewise, the winners are selected by their colleagues each month from a field of typically 30 candidates.  First, second, and third place winners receive a financial reward.   First through sixth place win t-shirts as well, and all who are nominated receive recognition on company bulletin boards and group meetings.  
One monthly winner is selected to win the quarterly prize. The fourth quarter monthly winners were Tim Warren, Tom Centofanti, and Cindy McDaniel. The results were very close since all three are excellent examples of outstanding employees.   
The monthly top three winners for the quarter were:
October – Tom Centofanti, Jason Gladden, Kevin Jenkins
November – Cindy McDaniel, George Smith, Isaac Proctor
December – Tim Warren, David DuFresne, Letha Bradley
The program was developed by a committee of 8 people at the Kings Mountain manufacturing location, where hydraulic gear pumps and motors are made, tested, and distributed to the global market.   One other Parker division has already adopted the program, and the model program is under consideration to be introduced to the other 125+ divisions within the Parker Corporation.
