Wrestling Evolution, one of the fastest-rising names in independent professional wrestling, makes its long-awaited Shelby debut with a stacked live event, Point of No Return, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Weathers Arena on the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. The event features Wrestling Evolution Champion Dontay Khalifah defending his title against Saint Julious, along with multiple championship matches and high-energy performances from some of the region's top athletes.

The Cleveland County Crimestoppers received the "Best Promotional Idea Award" at the North Carolina Crime Stoppers Association (NCCSA) annual training conference on September 17.

The Don Gibson Theatre recently hosted The Kentucky Headhunters, an American country rock and Southern rock band from Kentucky. Band members include Doug Phelps, Fred Young, Greg Martin and Richard Young. They have released ten studio albums, three compilation albums and 23 singles.

Kings Mountain National Military Park has announced that the Howser House will be open to visitors on Saturday, September 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event features guided and self-guided tours, early 19th-century games, craft demonstrations, and a special exhibit.
