The retirees fished Lake Wylie week before last and the streak is over. David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow knocked the 15 time champs off the top spot as they brought in 8.0. John Black and Roger McNeely (the 15 time champs mentioned above) were second with 3.0 and Fred Wright and Dean Champion took third with 2.8. Big bass was a 3.2 largemouth brought in by O’Shields and Sparrow.

Halloween Music Benefit for Local    Cancer Patient
        Ronno Cooke, a local teacher and artisan, was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. His friends and family are having a two day music festival to help him with medical expenses. The event will feature over 15 local and regional bands including David Via and Corn Tornado, Rush and Roger Padgett, The Wright Family, South Mountain Ramblers, The Ya Yas, and Rooster. A one day pass is $15 and two day passes are $25. Camping is encouraged and included with a two day pass unless you need full hook-ups for an R.V. Friday and Saturday, November 1- 2.
