It’s time again for the 16th Annual Foothills Merry Go Round Festival! Once again, 2 days of carnival fun at the Shelby City Park on April 27-28
The Bar H Arena in Boiling Springs will be hosting the 26th annual Bar H Championship Rodeo & Country Festival on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11. The country festival begins each evening at 6:00 pm and the championship rodeo begins each evening at 8:00 pm. The admission price includes the country festival and championship rodeo.

Mike Heath, owner of Mike’s Food Stores, recently had this huge fuel tank installed at his newest location at 507 N. Lafayette St. in Shelby. The completely renovated convenience store is most welcomed in the community and will be offering gas to their customers.

The retirees fished Lake Wylie last week and knew going in it would be better than the previous weeks event on Lake Norman. Ronnie Humphries brought in 10.0 and captured the win, Larry Melton was second with 8.95 and in third was Ken Johnson and Fred Wright with 7.30. John Black and Roger McNeely had a 2.90 largemouth and that was big bass of the day. This week its back to Lake Norman and hopes for revenge against the lake.

The overwhelming support of the Clear Mountain View Music Festival and other events held at Elliott Family Farms in Lawndale has been humbling. The Clear Mountain View Music Festival, scheduled for August 22-25, has been accepted as an event for the Blue Ridge Heritage Area Music Trail even though Cleveland County is not technically part of the National Heritage Area.
