Annual AARL Field Day
Shelby Amateur Radio Club and ARES of Cleveland County (sponsored by the Shelby Amateur Radio Club) will be holding their annual ARRL Field Day on June 22nd at 2PM at Cleveland County Fairgrounds.  The group will be operating 24 hours on emergency power to simulate operations during a disaster.  The event is open to the public so that anyone interested can come by and check out amateur radio.

The retirees fished Lake Wylie last week with Tony Black and Ned Blanton getting the win with 14.90. John Black and Roger McNeely brought in 11.75 and claimed second. They also had big bass of the night with a 4.30 largemouth. Mack Wyatt had 6.60 and took third. This week its back to Lake Norman.

The Shelby Lions Club gave out 101,000 lbs. of food, valued at $79,380,  to 7,245 people during the  Spring commodity food distribution on June 3rd through June 5th. The event was held at the Cleveland County Fairground. Pictured: Lion President Barbara Fitch  and  Community Volunteer  Art  Moss  help  give  out  commodity  food.
