The retirees last event was on Lake Norman. Earl Proctor won with 10.3. J R Garland and Rick Miers took second with 8.1, followed by Ray Hembree and George Crosswhite with 6.7. Fred Wright and Doug Sparrow had big bass with a 3.3 largemouth.

Several years ago it was not unusual to make one or two trips per week to wade the Cherokee Lake.
